308 16" barrel

I shoot a Remmy Model 7 with a 16" barrel 10T.
Lapua Brass, CCI BR large rifle primers, 168gr Amax and a lower to mid grain range of Varget, this combo has served me well as tree stand gun with a suppressor installed.

Good Luck.

I run a 18" that I built with a 10 twist. I mostly run 130 Barnes TTSX with AA2460 powder. Shoots in the same hole if I do my job and is good for hunting to 550 yards. Runs at 3085 FPS with very little recoil. I will be doing some testing with some 150's soon but it's hard to step away from the 130 TTSX with how well it shoots. SIG brass, 210m primer, Brass fully prepped and annealled, AA2460…detail below and 5 shot group at 100. AA2460 runs clean for me as it's a faster burning powder and easily attainable and inexpensive.

This is my go to 308 win round. I have 20 and 24 inch AR's for pig hunting. The best powders are LeverRevolution, CFE 223, and TAC.

I've bought 1000's of these back when they were more like 10 cents each.

I have loaded for 4 different 16 inch .308's. I load 168 a-max with Varget because it shoots well in a lot of different rifles, short barrels included. I try to duplicate the Hornady Black factory load and find it works well for most purposes. If I tried specifically to load for one of the shorter barrels, I would likely try lighter bullets with faster powder to improve shorter range drop numbers. My short .308s are typically used for hunting and recreation.
