Just got back from trying a ladder for the 190 Impact in new barrel that I did the PITA 20 round each round break in clean.
300WSM - 26" 5R Preferred Barrel, I did a couple 3 shot groups just for giggles after the cleaning and I am very pleased so far. They were just to see if it has potential and YESSIREE it does!
Velocity was stated to be 3004 for the 69.0 gr load but it was universal receiver which I have never been able to duplicate similar loads in real world to any extent.
The bullet specs are included in attachment below but if the BC is TRUE at 0.596 and the bullet flies pretty, this could be another bullet to try.
0.010 CBTO off the lands:
65.5 = 2830
66.0 = 2842
66.5 = 2855
67.0 = 2867
67.5 = 2898
68.0 = 2904
68.5 = 2943
69.0 = 2943
Ladder ascent looked decent enough (not sure if 68.0 is an anomaly or not) so my plan is to work on the 68.5 range to see what it can do when stretched out a bit. I haven't measured every bullet to see the QC but I will say it was extremely easy to set the CBTO for each bullet within 0.001 of each other which is all I am interested in for a hunting bullet. My plan isn't 1K but mid range 500-600 which I think it looks promising to test further. Not looking to do a research project but to just shoot it for trials.
I've included the Speer load data which was included in box of bullets for those who are interested in seeing.
