300 WM Reloading question

Honestly,
I would go with 165 to 180 grain projectiles and 4350 or similar speed powder. I think 2700 to 2800 fps is where I would go for on velocity. I tried to push 190s too fast with no success. Seems like the sweet spot might be 175 grain bullet going 2750. Nothin' fancy. Just an old cartridge design with a short neck that works like a mule, not so much on flare, just function.
I have an older Remington 700, stock everything.
Except, 20 MOA base and fancy scope.
Keep us updated please.

I've got some 200g partitions coming as he is wanting to stay heavy on the pills. I suggested to since we are back at square 1 let's try some lighter bullets but it's gonna be tough with a 1:9 twist barrel as most 300WM are a 1:10 twist

I had excellent results with my two 300wm rifles, both Tikka actions, both 24 inch with EC tuners, both using H1000 and Fed 215M primers and Peterson brass. I have 3 loads that are all shooting constantly under 1/2MOA at 100m.
First rifle with a factory varmint barrel 1:11, factory stock, loaded Berger VLDH 210gn, rather long (I got a metal bottom from Mountain Tactical that allows standard AICS mags), and got 2927fps, under 1/2 MOA at 100m for 77.8gn of powder. This was used last year for a bull moose at 250, dead on the spot, without a heart (Bergers are wicked!)
The second has an IBI medium-heavy contour barrel 1:9, an MDT LSS-XL chassis, but I had to use the AICS mags specific to Tikka, which are slightly shorter. One load is using Hdy ELDX 212, producing 2870 fps from 76.2gn of powder. The second load is using a Berger 245gn EOL, producing 2820fps from 75.2gn of powder. This one is a manual feed (does not fit in the AICS mag), but it shoots under 1MOA at 800m with 5mps 3 o'clock wind.
None of the loads show any sign of pressure, so I guess H1000 did really well for me.
Of course, the numbers I provided are just to make a point, one should never use someone else's loads, but develop their own!
