I am currently working with H1000.

H1000 seems to be my go to weatherby powder. Both my 257 and dads 300 love it.
I had very good luck running rl 23 in my sons 300 bee shooting a 185 good velocity and great accuracy for a light barrel rifle

I have thought about that powder too, but it can be hard to find, and I don't have any. I have a stock of H1000 for my 257 though, so I started there and also with some IMR 7828. It isn't as temp stable though I think so I am going to try and stick with H1000 If I can get the accuracy I want.

That top group is awesome.
The ES on mine was 17
The SD was 8
The outside spread counting that low one is 1.210
Using weatherby brass

I used to use RL 22 in my 300 Wby, but I got tired of the temp changing velocity and zeros. I live in Fairbanks AK and we have a pretty extreme temperature change (90 to -50 or lower). I don't go out and play past -20 anymore though. I have duplicated my original RL 22 load with RL 26. I have a Rem 700 with a 24 inch barrel. With 82.5 hrs of RL 26 I get 3080 FPS with a 180 gr TSX and a group of .780 with an SD of 14. Still tweaking that load a bit, but it has killed a couple Bou so far. I have IMR 8133 that I'm going to try in it also, but it's been a fairly chilly winter so I haven't shot much. With the 178 ELD-X the best group so far has been 1.125 with IMR 7977 at 86 hrs for 3128 FPS with SD of 10.

I used alot of H1000 and IMR4831 in the 257, and burned that barrel out in probably about 900 rounds. Part of that is probably shooting it to much when it was hot, but I will be nicer to the next barrel once it is installed. I am also going to try and use a chamber cooler when shooting to help cool the barrel between strings.
