300 RUM - 210 Gr Berger VLD hunting- Retumbo powder

What are yall guys velocities out of a 300 RUM 26 in barrel with 210 gr berger and retumbo power?

My 300 rum likes the 210 vlds going 2985 to 3000 fps. That is with 90grs, i did try it with up to 92grs and it went 3050 to 3075 but accuracy went way down.

What was the accuracy like at 92 grains?

The accuracy wasn't horrible, it was approx 1.25 at 100yds. The 90grs I sacrificed for accuracy. It puts 5 shots just over a 1/2 inch. If I would have messed with the seating depth it probably wouldve tighted up.

I load my RUM with 93.5 grains of Retumbo behind a 210 seated .015 off the lands. Velocity is approximately 3180 FPS and has proven to hold nearly 1/2 MOA out to 1,000 when I'm doing everything right.

I have a custom barrel on my rifle so the chambering gives me 3.035" to the ogive and approximately 3.7" COAL.

My buddy is getting 3130fps with 93.4grs of Retumbo, 215m and Rem. brass 210VLD seated to fit in the magazine of his 26" factory tubed Rem. 700 XCR. The last time we shot he put 2 at 1" apart at 440yds. First 2 cold bore. Gotta like that!

93 gr, 3130 fps out of a 26" Sendero

Accuracy will vary from rifle to rifle. Mine shot that load in about the .5-.6 MOA range.

I went with another bullet.

You will get more speed out of the 215 Berger than than the 210 as the 215 has a shorter bearing surface and a much better BC, .631 for the 210 vs .691 for the 215.
You didn't say what magazine length you will be running but the 215 hybrid is also better at various seating depths.

What speed did you get out of each? I've shot both but my hunting buddies all shoot 210s. I was going to switch them up to 215s if they can run faster.

I run the 230 berger at 2,980fps @ mag length ~3.7" 26" barrel. The 215 has always given more velocity than the 210 and should be running 3,100+
The 215 outran the 210 in every 300WM I tried.
