Still possible for a 300 berger 2900 fps with n565 you think 28 to 30 inch barrels?Maybe, But it will probably give up speed. N570 still works in the 338 NMI but you are using a drop tube.

I am sure Alex will agree, 2900 will be no sweat in a 338 LAI with many different powder choices. 3000+ is not out of the question. I ran mine at 3050 with 106.5 grains of RE33 with a 30 in barrel.Still possible for a 300 berger 2900 fps with n565 you think 28 to 30 inch barrels?

Didn't catch that! Send a 338 LAI reamer down that barrel, lol.338 norma improved
I like to mag feed lolDidn't catch that! Send a 338 LAI reamer down that barrel, lol.
All my stuff is elr type stuff like krg nightforce challenge and elr light class. Krg and nightforce definitely nice to mag feed. I have a samson foundation stock coming with the hawkins cip+ bottom metalIm not sure. But I kind of doubt it. N570 will do it though. But I do agree, go with a 338 Lapua imp. Hands down my favorite cartridge. You can mag feed them out of a cfe 9 if you jump them a little more. Or you can run a single shot, you wont need a second shot.

I get 2925 average with a 300 grain Berger. 338 NMI 28" barrel but with N570.Still possible for a 300 berger 2900 fps with n565 you think 28 to 30 inch barrels?
With the .307 mandrel the better numbers are .050 off and the other one .030 off. Groups are not as good but workable just happy to see tiny es and sd.On my last barrel I tested the neck tension using a .307" & a .3055" mandrel. The .307" resulted in a little better grouping and lower ES/SD so I've just stuck with it.
I also tested the 215m vs CCI250 primers on that barrel and it seemed like 215m's were always a little better. Might be worth a test to go load up 10 of each and go do a test. See if there are any standouts!
To be honest though, I'm more of the opinion that you pick one (neck tension & primer) that has historically worked well for others and stick with it for your load development. I'm sure that it can and has made big differences for some, but most likely very very minor for most. Especially when you're starting with known good combinations.
Might also find that once you increase the sample size enough it's all the same too. One way to find out!
Those are not selftiming or do they come with selftimingIt's hard to beat the terminator brakes
