300 Norma Magnum Improved reamer and die release

The 200 20x, 215, 230, have the same nose on them and will like 20-30 jump in MOST barrels. The 245 has a spot about 8 off that has worked in a lot of barrels as well. Theres always the 300-338 lapua imp for you guys wanting to run the 245s a little faster as well.

No problemo! I'm shocked at the temp stability that I'm seeing with it too. I have another load with 230 Bergers & N568 Averaging +/- 1-2 fps average velocities from sub 10 deg to 40's every outing. It's really a great powder if you have a big case to work with and not chasing max velocities. See how it does when things warm up too.

I have not tried not that close been using .030 off but I will give 8 off a try later to see what happens. Yes that is a beast but I'm mag fed spoiled haha

I had really good luck with n565 it didn't change much from 30 to 85 I was amazed. N568 seems to be right there so far. Only weird thing is the jump up of the speed which I will see what happens in morning going to shoot that load at 1300 yards to see how it holds at distance for my elr stuff.
 
N568 is the best powder I have tested in my 35* 300 NMI. Truthfully it was so good I stopped testing other powders (other than H1000). 10 shot strings are normally single digits to mid-teens ES's. N568 is EXTREMELY temp stable. 40-80*s zero gain in velocity. I compete in ELR, so I watch this stuff very closely. I could not believe how temp stable it is.

89.5 grains of N568 is just over 2900 FPS in my 26 in Bartlein with 245's / .275 FB. I am currently jamming them .012, but will redo seating depths with the rifle falls out of tune. This barrel has 585 rounds on it. Early in its life it preferred .010 jump and held that tune for over 350 rounds.

Primers make a difference in ES. Test 210's and 210 match- they may end up better than 215's or 250's.

That is great to hear. 89.5 is a good charge I don't think I could run that hot in mine. I'm strictly elr comps as well and watch es and sd all the time. Primers I have 215 and 250 but only been using 215 specially since I shoot in the cold a lot during practice time for me.

Also what's the barrel life you are seeing with n568?

.0036- to .0046 of throat death per 100. The bigger number as the barrel got more worn.

I think the primer concerns over ignition in cold weather are overblown for the most part. I was out shooting the over day in 30* weather and did not have an issue. My primary hunting rifle is a 338 LAI that I run 98.6 grains of H1000 in with 210's and have never had a problem with ignition in Washington state and Idaho.
 
I was testing loads at distance today and this happened after about 12 rounds randomly and bolt opened up harder case necks and shoulders very dirty and come cases came out wet..... I shoot suppressed so not sure if that was the cause. Any one see anything like this

Definitely looks pretty sooty*, I'd think suppressor related. Sitting at approximately 120 rds on my barrel without any carbon issues like that.

I believe I 89 is about max but going to redo pressure test. I'm getting 2949 in a 32 inch barrel with 87 grains. My sd are 4 to 5 es 14 to 18 usually with 10 to 15 shots. I can't seem to get es down like with n565.

87 gr seems to be the sweet spot on this one as well. I've tested 86-88 gr in .5 gr increments and 87 is where its most consistently grouping & low ES/SD.

Yeah never seen that. Cases had water on them coming out. Smith told me suppressor and maybe my ultra 9 isn't big enough to handle norma improved......
