So my 300 Norma Mag 30 Imp is shooting great, but now that I'm trying to refine load development, I'm running into absolute incompatibility with my seating die.

300 Norma Mag
RCBS MatchMaster seater
250 Atip

I have my seater threaded in to the press, just before the ram impacts the die at full stroke (no touchy touchy)
I have my c clip set so the seater stem is all the way out, so that I can drop a bullet into the window.
I have my adjustment backed as far out as I can get it while retaining the oring engagement so there is tension on the adjustment head.

If I drop a case into the press without a bullet, it goes in, just as you would expect, no apparent issues.

With a 250 Atip, this is the C clip setting on the stem so that I can even drop it into the window. I'm thinking about cutting the stem off at the red mark, so that I can turn the adjustment head down some...but I don't think it will even come close to being enough.

I've got everything backed out as far as possible and when I try to seat a 250 Atip....

This is what I end up with. Obviously this is not going to work.

Is this die just completely incompatible with the Press, the Cartridge, the bullet?
I've been reloading for about 18 yrs now and this one has me convinced the die just wont work with these variables.

Ok so I have the same dies Just first gen and you have the wrong length of stem in it .. for whatever reason

It should only be 1.190" long and have 3 clip slots at the top

Interesting...I have quite a few MatchMasters and none are that short. However, I did cut off the stem of my 6Creed MatchMaster
Plan was to have a buddy zip it off in his lathe and see how much real-estate that gains me.

When I get home, I'm gonna back the die out a ways, and see how it all looks.
I did just order a Co-Ax. I assume I will be able to get it figured out with one of the methods.

All of my larger die setups 300 Norma, 300 rum and 338 lapua from RCBS Have this same length stem
