It's basically a 300 Weatherby Ackley improved. It fills a nice niche between the 300 win mag and the 300 RUM.
Not a bad cartridge. I've had the best luck with H1000.
If you get one I recommend buying 200pcs of Norma or Weatherby brand brass. Remington will work but absolutely anneal the necks before shooting them or the corners will crack when forming the Ackley shoulder. Work up a load you like and shoot it. By the end of those 200rds you will have broken in the barrel and fully fireformed enough brass to last the life of the barrel if you load it sensibly. Then rework your load now that your brass is fully formed.
Bobby Hart will undoubtedly send you down the road of cream of wheat fire forming, reloader 19, and 180 nosler ballistic tips. Do what you wish but it's 2020 not 2005 and there are better ways now.
