.30 Gibbs

Quick Load has the .30 Gibbs in its database, so to calculate safe loads will be no problem. If you need help contact me via PM and I can look at appropriate propellants and loads.

When you've hiked several miles and sit down to take a break, it's nice to have a handsome rifle to look at rather than some ugly synthetic chunk or reprocessed crude oil.

Just look at it as a good excuse to start reloading. Or have it converted to a 300winmag. It's a great cartridge if you can reload. It's not hard to do either. Surely you have a friend that reloads. Get the dies and everything else is the same stuff. You just need to fireform your brass and then it's no different than loading any other cartridge. Or go the basic brass method and just size it down load and shoot. Have fun with it. That's what it's all about anyway.
Shep
I might have to start reloading. I was hoping that someone out there had .30 Gibbs.

I have both. I have a Browning Hells Canyon in 6.5 Creedmoor that I still think is beautiful and it's almost indestructible. I'm not afraid to take it anywhere. But I have a love for wood. Especially Belgium Brownings.

Nice rifle! Is this rifle really chambered in .30 Gibbs?
I have to take the gun smith's word. Just got it last night and haven't taken it down. Smith said it was stamped on the barrel. Not anywhere I can see. But this is one of the nicest rifles I have ever seen. As you can see it's a Belgium FN. I think it's a Mauser action. I'm no expert...just a lover.
