Where is Moose season open in April? Did you mean last year?I am shooting the 215 Berger at 3100 fps. Have hammered tons of elk with it and took a Moose last week at 1033 yards. tested many, this one is hard to beat.

Don't overlook the .300 Wby if you are set on 30 caliber. Also .338 Win.Mag. and the 340 Wby. mag. are splendid for what you have in mind.I'm looking at the Christensen arms ridgeline rifles for a lighter pack rifle for an upcoming Alaska moose hunt and high country elk hunt. I'm wanting to shoot the Berger 210.
Im having trouble deciding on the caliber and looking for some opinions and pros and cons.

212eldx bearing surface is a lot longer than the 215 Berger. Photo is 215 Berger, 212eldx, 200eldxAnother fyi for 300RUM Ridgeline...
I chose to run the 212g eldx at 3050fps mainly because my NXS scope reticle bdc is "correctist" for that speed and altitude ill most likely hunt. You could easily push past 3100fps with either the 212g or berger 215g. They have very close bering surfaces. And I believe the 212g eldx had a slightly higher BC than the 220g eldx for some reason.
