Recently purchased a very, very low round count Weatherby Accumark.
Mounted a 4-18x50 Kahles on it and adjusted the trigger down to 2 pounds.
With 112 gr of Retumbo, Fed mag primers, 168 TTSXs loaded to 3.6 OAL it will put 5 in 3/4" at 100.
Have tried several 180s with Retumbo, H869 and 50BMG. Results have been poor (2-5")
Have read that the 200 gr Accubond has a high BC and might be a better choice than the 168TTSX. Thoughts, Experience ?
Second question involves the muzzle brake. While it is a ***** to shoot with it, wearing double hearing protection while hunting is impractical. I bought a blank end cap (thread protector) but it weighs so much less than the brake it causes harmonics to go south. The TTSX shoot a one bullet wide, 5" high group. Does anyone make an end cap that duplicates the weight of the factory brake?
Thanks for your help.
