Hmmm....I really like that setup!I've got one inbound because it goes with my .284 win switch lug without having to stock another bunch of brass...

Last year I got a wild hair and rebarreled one of my 284s too a 25 -284 fast twist now I have a 284 2 6.5-284s a 25-284 , and after reading this post my as well build a 30-284. It's an addiction. You really can't beat the 284 case it's strong especially Lapua Brass I'm not a big fan of win brass I've got some win that weighs as much as 15 grs apart versus hardly any difference with Lapua.Coming from WTO.
I understand likes and dislikes , but I would rethink that dislike that 6.5 cal has been a sleeper for way too long . I shot my first buck with a 6.5 Swede in 1963 before 6.5s were cool , now it's just about 6.5 everything. I do like 25s , 7mm and 30s too , might try a 33 cal some time soon.haha well I feel you! I was going to do a 6.5 but just don't like that caliber...
I might do a .25-284 or .338 but I have a mag bolt coming so may just do a .338WSM just because.

I think you might be better off with the .30.06 case if you're going that route. How does a 33-284 sound
There's always something to play with that's for sure.Or the 338 RPM. But that's factory round.
I'll do a 338-284 someday.
Like you might need a bigger case. How does a 33-284 sound
