30-06 and 210 ABLR loads

I should get my 30-06 loaded up and out for Veteran's Day. Familial responsibilities will probably prevent me from getting this done, but one can hope. Thanks for all the good information. And Happy Veteran's Day to all those who served. And thank you to all those who are serving now.

Haven't used my 30-06 in a few years but want to dust it off and see what it can do with the 210s. I have the following powders....H4350, N560, RL26, H1000, Retumbo, H4831sc, and N565.

Nosler data shows N560 with good performance...anyone have any recommendations on powder to start with, and any load data?

Thanks
Hey something I have a lot of experience with!

I run 210 ABLR in 30-06 because they expand really nice at the lower velocities the 30-06 pushes them at.

My best load is:
CCI large rifle primer 200's
55.7 grains of IMR 4831
OAL 3.340
Brass MFG Hornady.

Your mileage may vary, and obviously work your loads up first.

My average velocity from this load is 2560fps with a low variance (can't remember what it is exactly), and half MOA accuracy out of my Winchester 70 for 3 shot groups. I also run a 24" barrel for reference. You can run up to about 56 or 56.1 grains however I personally got greater accuracy from the slightly lower powder charge.

Also, note that I measure every single powder charge and make sure it is exactly 55.7, which is probably a big reason my deviation is pretty low.

Edited for typo's

I used to have a H4350 load but I don't have my book with me and I prefer the IMR 4831 over it for the higher velocity and superior accuracy of it. H4350 was fine, sub MOA but the IMR 4831 was just better in every way for my rifle.

Not the 210's but I'm running the 200 gr SGK from a 22 inch barreled 30-06 over RL-16. I had to run mine a little short of sierra's load data and I only went up to their max and I'm getting 2685 ft/sec. I convinced my buddy to try something similar in his 06 and he's running a 208 ELD-x at 2750 from a 24 inch barrel. Both loads seem to shoot very well

I usually run Fed 210 or Win WLR primers in my 06. But am running low on those and got some Rem primers now. What are you all running with the RL26?

I tried the 210 on top of both RL22 and IMR 4350. Standard Remington 700, 24" bbl. Got 2607 FPS with 57 gr of RL22 with an SD of 6 for 10 shots and 2549 FPS on top of 51.5 gr of IMR 4350 with an SD of 5 for ten shots.

I know of someone who has used StaBall 6.5 in a .30-06 and using Hornady 212 gr ELD-X bullets.
He did his ladder tests, and found he could run that 212 gr bullet up to 2770 fps, right at the right pressures.
57.3 grs of StaBall 6.5 was the best group, and highest velocity.
He had good results with 56.5 grs as well.
Just do the ladder loading to determine your max charge.
RL-26 is really decent as well. That might get you in the ballpark of same velocities said above.
