Haven't used my 30-06 in a few years but want to dust it off and see what it can do with the 210s. I have the following powders....H4350, N560, RL26, H1000, Retumbo, H4831sc, and N565.

Nosler data shows N560 with good performance...anyone have any recommendations on powder to start with, and any load data?

Thanks

210 gr is a really heavy bullet for a 30-06.
I'd stay in the 165-180 gr weight.

But if you set on the 210, I'd start with RL26 or H4831SC. Retumbo and H1000 should work also, but I personally don't have any experience with those powders.

Thanks for the input...

I have a 280AI and shoot the 168 VLD...never used ABLR. I've shot 180's out of it before but curious to see how 210's do. I may use the 190's too but wanted to try something heavier...

I think I would at least try the 190ABLR in an '06. Might may be a match made in heaven. Run the numbers.

Are U planning on using it for moderate to short distance. reason I ask is I know fellas that shoot really heavy bullets in that gun in thick brush. If you are dead set on 210 weight in bullets I'd go with any of the slower powder that you have. I will say I have become a fan of the vitavori powders of recent years.

on the other hand,

With that the 06 with 4350 in a 165-180 bullet is really good. ive Shot 4350 with a 180gr bullet for almost 35 years and I have not had an 06 that it didn't shoot good with that combo. Good luck
plenty of new sport guns out there but hard to beat the 06 and what it does.

H4350 & RL26 will give the best velocities with that bullet weight. N560 should be good as well but I haven't tried it.

My go-to load with a 30-06 1:10 26" is 208ELD and R26 at 2913fps. Crazy how that combo works together. Sorry it isn't the ablr, but hopefully it works the same for ya.
That sounds like screaming fast speeds...are you right on the edge of pressure? As a point of reference I am getting 3010 fps in my 280 AI with a 168 VLD and am happy with that velocity. Nosler lists the 30-06 and 210 as 2646 fps at max - I'm sure I'll get more than that but I was guessing 2700+.

I was shocked. Remington brass. That stuff usually doesnt mask pressure. No sticky bolt and primer pockets arent loose. Flat primers. 3.500"

I run the 208 Amax with RL26 at 2840 from a 22 inch proof 1-10 twist barrel. You can play with the primer since some brass and guns like 210 and some like 215. With 215 I get a little more speed ( about 13fps) but the SD is higher in this rifle.

I can run the 190 Berger hunting VLD at 2900fps all day long with RL26.

What twist rate is your barrel?
