284 win loads for 150 grain ELD-X

H4350 47 grain pushing 166 grain atip bullet at 2835 fps shot a string of 20 shot at 600 yards in a 5 1/2in group
Good velocity with that bullet with only 47 gr in 26".
I run 150 gr to 2900-2950 in a 26" but takes 52.4 grains.
My LR rig does 2830 with 51.5 grains and 180 hybrid in 30" tube.

To get those speed I am using federal primer 205 small rifle match. Cci primer seem to run about 70fps slower

Just bringing back this thread. Melvin Forbes died this week. He created the Ultra Light Arms 5-pound rifle decades ago, and the .284 Winchester was his most popular cartridge in his Model 20. I bought a NULA Model 20 last year in .284, and I'm going to use it for elk and deer this fall. Yesterday I got what I thought were pretty good groups (3/4 inch) at 100 yards with this super lightweight rifle. I'm still in the early stages of load development, but using 150-grain Nosler Ballistic Tips (I plan to switch to Accubonds for hunting) I got 2972 fps average with 53.0 grain of RL-17, and 2948 fps with 58.0 grains of VV N-160. Increasing RL-17 to 54 grains got me 3024 fps average, but the group opened up. This is a 22-inch barrel. I need to work around those charge levels to see what works best, but these are very useable for mountain hunting and shots to 450 (my personal max).

Not a NULA but I use 52.5gr H4350 with 150 NBT @ 2900 in 24" barrel.
53 gr gets +20 but is nearing a bit of pressure.
Tried 52-54 of RL 17 and got better velocity but couldn't group well enough for my liking.
I've also played with N560 a bit and it worked very well with good velo and accuracy but left my good load alone for now.
