280Ackley down loaded like 7mm-08 for younger hunters

Thank you everyone for the info.i believe I'll start looking for a 280AI and see what happens I can always purchase a 7mm-08 if the 280AI ends up being to much for them.im in the market for either and have brass I can convert to 280Ackley and for 7mm-08 just would need dies.i will more than likely be using hammer bullets in either cartridge ballistic tips if I can find them or eld x

Depending on what you do in the 280 the browning or some of the customs run a 1in 8 twist which is faster than most stock rifles. It gives you the ability to run heavier bullets in the future to grow into it.

Did anyone mention shooting the 120 BT out of the 280 AI? 🤣
Shooting these would be pretty close to shooting 160 class bullets from the 7-08.(recoil wise)
As mentioned above the 130 Speer hot cor is a in stock option.

Quite a few of us 😂 But it doesn't hurt to say it again, and again and again. It's one bullet that you can push fast and not worry about blow up, or anything else, just shot placement like with any other bullet.

Savage has a 110 classic with an adjustable stock that would fit just about anyone . In the 7-08 pushing barns 120 ttsx the recoil is mild and it's good from deer to elk . The thread pitch is a weird size and required a trip to the gunsmith for a re thread and a self timing break . It's the gun I'm currently using for my kids giveaway. My personal 7-08 runs 140 ttsx barns at 3050 and sub .3 groups with light recoil suppressed.
