.280 AI velocity question

is it possible, with a 26" barrel to get 2900fps flat with a 175gr. bullet out of a .280AI? obviously without flattening primers or blowing one's self up. all info much appreciated!

would you say 1:9.5" twist 5r would stabilize a 175? was thinking a bare minimum twist and more forgiving groove profile would help yield max vel. but even if so, idk if there would be a trade off in accuracy. thoughts anyone? thanx for all info.

It is possible to get 2800++ out of the berger 180 in a 25" barrel w/o blowing yourself up.....

Try 7828ssc and Norma MRP start @53 grains for both of them and work up

Hope this helps...280 AI is one of my all time favorite cartridges, it really is hard to beat for that category cartridge.
