I'm getting ready to start reloading for my newly built 280 AI. I have a couple of questions for you guys.

1. I used the Hornady OAL gauge and determined that my cartridge length is 3.375" with the bullet tight into the lands. How far off the lands should I seat it to generally get the best groups?

2. What will be the signs I see if the pressure starts to get too high?

Thanks!

Jeffwhip, each rifle will have a different OAL. Some like it 0.030" and some could be 0.050". Try to take your most accurate load and test it with different OAL. For signs of pressure go to this website and explore topics:

Enjoy your reloading, but be causious and play it safe.
