280 Ackley and Ramshot Magnum

I have been using 7828, MRP, H1000 and Retumbo in my 280 AI all with very good results. I've been extremely lucky insofar as my rifle shoots well with everything from Barnes 140gr ttsx to 168 gr Berger vld's. Was doing some loading Friday nite when my eyes settled on my one and only pound of Ramshot Magnum that I had purchased to try in my friends custom 300 win mag. Just for giggles I loaded 4 rounds with 154 gr Hornady SST's. Absolutely best group ever. 4 shots into one ragged hole. No calipers with me yesterday but group is certainly under .2" Now I realize this could have been a happy accident but I am certainly going to pursue more loads with this powder. gun)

I'm always a day late and a dollar short. Shot again today with same results till the wind got up. Going to run with it.......do a ladder test next time out and check velocity.

I have found Magnum to be fairly temp stable also...I just bought 8 more lbs of it !

I haven't seen any ramshot for some time, I've considered trying hunter in my 7-08 if I find it. I'm having a 280AI built this spring (barrel on order, hopefully getting chambered in April). So far in my pre-stocking I've just been able to find some IMR7828SSC to try out with it (I already have some IMR4350 as well).

What are you loading in your Ackley with ramshot powder and bullet wise? Hows the velocities?

I have a 24" barrel on mine. Working up with 150 gr ABLR's Expected velocity?

I haven't run any of mine through the chronograph yet, hopefully this weekend. Mine has a 27" barrel so it will be interesting to see what I come up with.

Mine is a 26" Brux....I get just shy of 3000 fps with the 150 ABLR and H4831SC..
