Hello,
Trying to get some load data for a Browning Mtn Ti A-Bolt Rifle in 270 WSM (1:10 twist and 22" barrel). I want to shoot the 117 gr. Hammer Hunters. The powders I want to use are ;
H4831sc
H4831
IMR4350
IMR4955
Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Trying to stick with powders I have since it's still almost impossible to find anything.

Thanks
Bill

I think 4350 is going to be the one. 4831 you'll probably run out of room in the case.

With 4350 start at 62 and go up by 1 grain increments. My guess you'll find consistent ejector marks around 68. Let us know how it goes.

And if you haven't bought the bullets yet I would look at the 116 gr absolute hammer.

I'm getting 3400 fps out of a 22 inch 270 win and 3500 out of 24 inch barrel.

Here's my brand new kimber at 100 yards. Teal slash was clean bore.

Thanks everyone
I will start with the 4350.
I want to keep to powders I already have if possible.
Anyone try IMR 4955? Supposedly it helps against copper fouling. Which is a problem I have with my .308 shooting Barnes all copper.
Thanks

We rarely see copper fouling so it shouldn't be an issue. Do make sure you get all the old fouling out before you start a new bullet.

I recently developed a load for a buddies 270wsm A-bolt that shot everything like crap, barrel had a decent amount of tooling marks and pitting. After Talking with Steve at Hammer we went with the 117HH since my Buddy rarely shoots past 250-300yds, hunts whitetail/coyotes and could benefit from the extended MPBR I went with 4831 since I had plenty of it and no intended use, the gun shot a nice 1.25"-1.5" group at 200yd. The charge was 65.5gr, I didn't bother with a chronograph since he is a point and shoot guy. He killed 3 big bodied whitetails and who know how many pigs last year and we were very pleased with the results.

edit....I can get the gun and chrono a couple if you want me to
