270wsm still alive and kicking ?

I have a .270 WSM and 6.8 Western. I'm still fire forming 7 SAUM brass so I can reload for the 6.8 Western. I've tested 165 gr ABLR's in the .270 WSM, but I couldn't get them to stabilize. My particular WSM likes 140 gr bullets, so most of my loads are with those bullets. I working up a load with 150 gr. BT's. Now that my hunting season is over and work has slowed down, I can get back to testing them.

I'm confused. From memory, I thought 270 WSM had a .550 día @ 0.200" line where SAUM was 0.532"??

I am on a mission to begin reloading for a 270 wsm Winchester model 70. I find the ammo to be very expensive but I have been stockpiling 150 Winchester to match. I think I am adding a Limbsaver soon. I think the rife is a beauty.

is it possible to use 270WSM and heavy for caliber bullets ?
Is brass still available ? ir really expensive ?
I think the 270 WSM has a large fan base. Unlike the shorter necked 7 WSM, it has sufficient case neck length for my liking.

That said, if I was to build another WSM, which I'm considering, I'd lean toward 6.5-300 due to case neck length, component availability, and ballistic performance.

I've been necking down 300 WSM Norma brass and then trimming, shoot once, resize and good to go, has worked out very well with H4831SC and 145gr ELDXs, shooting suppressed with a 21" barrel at 2920 FPS. Had horrible luck with Winchester brass for reloading, shot the factory ammo well but the brass split on the second firing before I got around to annealing

A Few Weeks ago, my 14 y/o grandson, popped a Nice Idaho Antelope at, 268 yards.
I was quite away's behind them ( Not wanting to Spook, the Herd ) and didn't "See" the hit,..
My son and grandson came back to, Talk to Me and my Son said he wasn't sure what "Happened", as they just saw, the Buck "Disappear" !
I just smiled, as we walked out to, Look for Blood ( LOL ) High shoulder Hit, DRT, In his, Tracks,.. straight DOWN !
Pass thru, AGAIN ( Very little, Meat Loss, same as, my Last Elk ! ) 140 gr. Berger Classic Hunter, Bullet ( Tikka 24", SS Lefty, in .270 WSM ) @ 3,175 FPS average Velocity. The Bullet made "Jello" out of, the insides ( Practically NO, Bloodshot Meat ! )
Needless to say that Now, my Grandson, IS "Sold" on, the .270 WSM, too !
