One of my more basic builds. Trued 700 LA, Proof Carbon 1-10 twist .277, 24" finishes with a Timney 510 trigger, 2 tone cerakote and a McMillan sporter carbon. Currently set up as a pkg sale with a new Leupold VX3i 2.5-10x50 and lightweight Talley direct mount rings. 2750$ (2250$ rifle only)

NO specific weight here guys, your not going to make a carbon fiber stock and proof barrel set up on a sporter style stock lighter, less you go
to titanium receiver, now your inexpensive build just got expensive...but she's right around 7 lbs when I weighted it about a year ago...don't think she's put on any weight since then, LOL. As in the thread, 24" long barrel, Proof doesn't make a 20" or 22" .277 barrel blank back then when I purchased the barrel.
The 270 Win is a soft recoiling cartridge, so didn't see the need to put a threaded barrel end (re: brake) on it either, more work means more $$ passed on to you. I figure this set up with scope and a few rounds is gonna be about 8lbs and a few oz. If its too heavy, drink a few less Budweisers the night before...(sorry for my cynical humorous approach early in the morning guys, but I think Grouse gets it)
If your looking for a serious mountain rifle, I have a 6.5 SAUM already built, and a 25 SAUM on a Model 7 thats in the works that I'm thinking is going to be under 7 lbs..

Interesting- Who trued the action and exactly what was was done when it was trued.... Reason I ask is "trueing" is all over the board... I've seen the front squared to the threads and it's been called trueing.... In my gunsmith's way its threads, bolt face, lugs ,timing, recoil lug etc.... very nice rifle by the way.

Yes that term is severly abused by some.
Lugs squared to bolt raceway, and bolt face squared. Receiver housing is squared perpendicular to raceway for a perfect fit with lug and barrel end. No M16 or Sako extractor. Threads cleaned up not cut oversized. All if my receivers are trued by Karl Feldkamp, kampfield customs…very well regarded. The chamber and assembly by Ragged Hole Barrels, John Bredderman, he was a lead instructor at the Lassen School of Gunsmithing in Reno/Sparks
