270 Sierra Gameking

60g H4831-cci 250 primer
55g of H4350-Rem 9 1/2 primer

Play with seating depth, as it will make one heck of a difference!

Factory uses non canister powders.

if one of the two loads above do not get the job done, I would be seriously shocked! Normally, I would seat the bullet to .020 off the lands, and that usually gets the job done...forget the factory OAL

I shoot 59 grain of h4831sc at 2900 fps with 130 grain nosler bt and all touch at 100 yards. 55 grain of 6.5 Staball yields me 3015 fps and moa at 100. Remington model 700 bdl 22 inch barrel.

This is like a deja-vu conversation I had with a buddy of mine 6 months ago.

His rifle shot 1/2" groups with the Federal Premium 270 Win 130 gr Sierra factory loads. (Mfg part number P270D). He had 3 left, and couldn't find any more as they were discontinued. He called me to see if we could "roll some ourselves".

We pulled a bullet, and based on the look and weight of the powder, it was likely similar to H4350.

I had about 6 boxes of those 1820's, so we re-manufactured with the same COAL / CBTO using H4350 with a ladder from 52.5 - 54.5 gr.

54gr with my lot of H4350 gave the same velocity and accuracy of the factory loads.

FYI the factory loads shot 3022, 3026, and 3011 fps - which is pretty close to what you observed.
Being a 65yo novice to reloading lingo, what are the COAL/CBTO? Also I saw someone said the OAL in a later post.
