Anyways...I have a 270Wby with a stock chamber, 1-9 Benchmark barrel. Freebore is .376". I can load to any COAL that I want. No accuracy issues...get as much freebore that you can stand, so you are not limited to one bullet. Look at the limiting issue of the longest COAL of your magazine. Then go from there...

If you only want to shoot 140s...look at your mag max COAL...and then do you really want/need a custom throat reamer?

140s rock in the 270...depending on your game...SSTs work very well...

I need a reamer regardless. my brother is my smith so I'll just be giving them as part of my payment for the build. may as well have the throat set up to get the most of the bullets I expect to shoot.
