Just got back from the range looks like 69.6 grs of Retumbo is the sweet spot with the powder. started at 67.6 grs went to 70.1 grs three rounds per weight at .5 grs increments. The bullet is a Accubond 129grs LR seated at 3.300 avg fps was 3151 es 45 sd 22 thought whose numbers are high. Nosler brass with federal primer 215m. So what do I need to do to get my es and sd down.

Thanks for any words of wisdom.

I just finished a literally mirror-load to yours in my-own 264wm... Nosler brass, fed215's, 129ABLR and even settled at the exact 69.6 Retumbo.. there's definitely a nice node right there. Mine are basically 3196-3205 though, chrony'd 15/20 in that range and am very content that's where it's going to stay.

Anyway, in mine, my ES is definitely single digit.. sometimes can be tough to nail down a load for every rifle that-low* I do have a longer throat in my chamber and use a COAL of 3.375" (which gives me +/- 5 thou jump... found 5 thou to be best for groups) Pretty tight to the lands.

The only suggestion I have to pass along is to go ahead and de-burr your flash-holes in that brass, regardless of Noslers claims to have been done. You'll be surprised at the chips falling out... I'm pretty certain the flash-holes and uniform neck-tensions are what attribute to single digits in mine. I use bushings to get me 1-2 thousandths tension.. go tighter and pressures rise slightly, velocities increase and spreads go with it. Trick is uniformity.

I'm having a 264 built right now with a Rock #3 8 twist. However mine is a LW build with a 24" barrel. Will finish just over 6#. I picked up some RL-26 and RL-33 to play with. Plan on running the 129 & 142 LRAB's and the 140 VLD's. Will let u guys know how these powder perform once I get the gun. Should have it within the month.

I used h870 forever in my ruger model 77 mark II with 24 inch barrel and I shoot 155 gr lapula mega tip bullets .I am going to try wc867 powder .The throat on my rifle is short which stinks it is throated for factory ammo .

A couple months ago I had a wildcat made. I rented a 6.5-.338 RUM. Since I wanted a long neck I asked if there was a way to make it longer. The die renter also rented me a 6.5 neck and throat die to make the wildcat with the longer neck. You might check to see if there is a throater die to increase the throat length.

Its funny I have 6.5 jap with long throat it eont shoot any if the Winchester or Remington 140 gr double diameter bullets for the 264 win mag .My 264 win mag ruger wont shoot anything but the 140 gr 264 win mag bullets and the lapula 155 grain seated way too deep .That lapula 155 gr us awesome and super accurate .Its not super long range bullet but I shot two pringhorn at 350 yards hit them and flipped them like maxk truck hit them .It has a bc of .377 not the best but the secional density is awesome.I hope to try the wc 867 powder with them .I have shot 1.5 inch groups at 300 yards with them so not a bad deal

I've run quite a bit of WC867 in a few different rifles. MY 264 mag finds a stiff bolt lift at 76.0g in THIS particular batch of powder. I found best accuracy at 74.5g @ 3320 fps with a 140g Berger VLD hunting bullet. I haven't spent much time with US 869. None in my 264 mag. Lot to lot variation within the WC867 has influenced me to buy it 16# at a time and mix each 8# together so by the time I need to buy more powder the barrel is long since shot out and replaced. YMMV

im running R33 in my 264....just got it from my gunsmith last week. have several loads under 1/2 moa, and one group that was .128 but it was pretty slow. im running the 140 berger at 3.370 just .010 off the lands and im getting 3270 fps. barrel is a 26" bartlein, 1 in 8 5r #3b profile.

Using H570 I have managed 3269fps with he Woodleigh 160gr PPSN from my Shilen 30" barrel with 1 in 8 twist.

Have any of you tried Norma 217 in your 264 mag??? My friend just bought himself a 264 mag and wants to give that powder a try. I see it is supposed to be a little slower than MRP2 that it replaced...
