Trying to run the new 140 ballistic tips. I have tried 7828ssc, H1000 and H4831SC. All seem to be quite compressed when approaching max loads to the point that the bullets are seating inconsistently for depth. Next up will be H4350, IMR4350, RL17 and maybe RL19. Looking for something that is temp insensitive for the heavier bullets in 260 Remington. What other powders for max performance with 140 ballistic tip and 260 Remington?

I run H4350 in mine and have had success. I found the same thing, if I wanted to mag feed the .260 I couldn't use the H4831 class of powders to their full potential. I ran out of case capacity unless I seated the bullets way out there.

I am using RL-19 with the 130-142 grain bullets and RL-17 with the 120 grain bullets. I know that the RL powders may not be as temperature stable as the Hodgdon powders but I get very good accuracy and velocity with these combinations.

I ran 49.3 gr of RL22 under a 129 gr Hornady SST seated to 2.800" OAL and got 2,897 fps out of my 20" tube into a 0.174" 3 shot group at 100 yards.
