I'm running 48.2 grains or rl26 in my 260ai, at 3006 fps with 143 eldx 26"barrel. I would still try it with the short barrel. Even if you lost 30 fps per inch you would still be in the low to mid 2800's.
Post back after you test with RL26. I have a 260ai and would like to know your results.Sounds good . Pretty sure I got a bit of 26 !
On the next .260 AI I'm going to build specifically to be supressed, it's going to have a 20" barrel and I'm going to start off with RL26.I'm running 48.2 grains or rl26 in my 260ai, at 3006 fps with 143 eldx 26"barrel. What load and what velocity are you getting with your 260?Terry Cross uses 48.5 grains of H4831 or H4831SC. That produces great accuracy, and about 2935 fps with a 26" barrel. He uses 139gr Lapua bullet and 2.820" OAL for his match load according to an article he wrote. I use a few grains less for my 260 Remington with one ragged hole results.
