Finally got to let the 25wssm bark on a young boar. Been dialing in load development for a little while with the hammer hunter 92gn and she's shooting great at 3307fps average. Shot was 110 yard hard downhill and quartering towards. Entrance you can see in the first photo high spine just a little forward of the shoulder - 1/2" hole in the hide. Exit was center of the ribs behind the opposite shoulder 1/2" hole in the hide. Boar dropped and didn't move. Skinning revealed an entirely different story. The entrance obliterated the spine and tenderloin enough so my fist could be pushed through with ease. I lost a solid 6" of loin/strap on that entrance side. Second photo is the entrance with shoulder removed. Third is the entrance with loin removed. Fourth is the exit wound.

This is interesting - i was under the impression the hammers would be more sparing for meat. I'm a dead is dead guy, just a discussion is all. My wife shoots same bullets in factory offerings in her 257 weatherby, took a couple of deer this season - but they went to the processors so I never knew.

That thing is scooting, 25wssm is a cool little caliber - had one and sold it because i wasn't shooting my RH rifles anymore as i have enough LH rifles that fit me better.
