256 x 61 magnum

Very interesting. Thanks for following up. So it was a 7x61 Sharpe & Hart necked down to .256 and (apparently) a custom run of Norma brass was made up for it? You don't see that very often. If you can post a pic on here, I think people would like to see it. Always fun to see something out of the ordinary.
 
The only Norma 7x61 brass that's been available for years now is marked "Super 7x61". Outside dimensions are identical to the older 7x61 S&H brass, but it has a slightly greater capacity than the older stuff.

That's 1968 or older brass. It has a water capacity of 4-5 grs. less than Super brass, but for some purposes that may not make a difference.
 
Offhand, I can't remember the number, but it's the same as all magnums based on the H&H case... .264 Win., 7mm Rem., .300 Winchester, etc.
 
All brass formed from H&H magnum have the same head size. 7x61 is just one of many.
