25-06 loads for Antelope

Don't know the barrel twist. I'll check. It's a Ruger M77 MK II.

It's OK; at <300Y, most bullets will do. As others noted, the 115 Berger is a bad arse pill.

Any experience with Nosler Ballistic Tips?

I was a long-time NBT user before I transitioned to Berger. Yes, they will do good as well. But my preference is Berger.

what region of WY are you hunting?

I have 7 points, with an outfitter. 300 yards or less, hopefully around 200 yards. I prefer a stalk vs poking from afar.

Practice at longer ranges. I'd suggest out to 500. When it's flat and the tallest "cover" is 12-18" sage, you can only stalk so close.

I've run the Sierra 100 and 117 BTSP, Nosler 110 AB with Retumbo @ 3,310 fps, Nosler 115 BT, and Berger 115's.

See post#2. Imr or h4831, r23, retumbo all great powders. Retumbo will give best velocities but IMR always gave best accuracy at ~3050fps

My favourite load/bullet in all of my 25-06's is the 115g Partition running RL25 or Retumbo.
The 110g Accubond is the other using the same powders.
Over the years, I have used the Berger 115g, 120g Partition/Speer/Hornady, lots of 100g BT's/Speer HotCor and 87g TNT.

I have been using 117 Grain Sierras in front of H4831 for years. Thats in a ten-twist barrel. None have required a second round. None of my shots have been past 400 yards. Antelope go down easy with a well placed shot.

I don't have a 25-06 anymore, but mine shot the 110 Accubond and 115 VLD very well with IMR 4831and RL-22. I'm sure they'd be plenty good on antelope.

Berger 115 VLD hunting and Hodgdon H4831sc worked excellent in my 25-06

The Nosler reloading manual indicated "most accurate load tested"…."most accurate powder tested" at least 35 years ago;

100gr bullet…53.5 grs of IMR4831

With a little seating depth adjustment the Nosler statements have proven true in over 10 different rifles…equal to this load is 57grs of R22.

Antelope in Wyoming…plan on a 400yd shot in wind…their eyesight is phenomenal and they make snap decisions based on hallucinations…their weakness is thirst.
