I found the Sierra 100 gr. Pro Hunters shoot great in my 25-06 700 LR , I'm loading 54 gr. of IMR 4831 . I basically wanted a load to handle everything from deer , To coyotes and Groundhogs, Most shots will be between 250/300 yds . Can anyone who's used this load speak to what kind of performance I can expect ??? Maybe what velocity I'm approaching . Thanks

Probably right about 3300 FPS. The Sierra guide says that 53.8 Gr. of IMR-4831 does 3300 FPS out of a 26" barrel. If you are using a 24" barrel you could be 50~70 FPS slower than that.

I shoot the Sierra 100 Gr. boat tail version of your bullet. I get 3200 FPS, with 52.6 Gr. of RL22 out of a 22" barrel. This happens to be the documented accuracy load for this bullet in the Sierra guide.

Oh and my bullet works very well in the 250-300 range. I sure the prohunter will also. They are a great bullet choice for the 25-06.

Thanks barrelnut, Mine has a 26" barrel .

My bullet is the 100gr Game King. My load is 53.5gr IMR 4831. From my 24"barrel I am getting 3290fps avg. for 5 shots. I tried RL22, IMR4350 IMR7828. All shot reasonably well but IMR4831 was by far the best in my rifle.

Those pro hunters work great on whitetail...a little stout to my liking for groundhogs & such. I had a Remington sendero in 25-06 back in college & probably killed 3 dozen whitetails with that bullet. I sold that gun in 1996 when I left Tennessee & had a custom one built a couple years ago. I've moved primarily to the Barnes ttsx & hornady sst. My pet load with the 100 gr Barnes is 52.4 gr IMR 4831, Fed210m around .020 off the lands- 3270'ish out of the 24" tube. Shoots half MOA or better consistently & is absolute poison on deer!

I've used the 117 grain on whitetails since Remington first brought it out in their 700 way back in the late 60's..works perfectly fine, only difference I use H-4350 in mine....nice cartridge that ole' 25/06

In my Browning X Bolt 25-06, I use H4831sc with good results with 100 and 117 gr. Sierra Game King bullets. I don't load them hot, I keep the 100 gr bullet around 2900 fps and the 117 gr. bullet around 2800 fps.. Most of my shots are well under 300 yards.

I've shot a few northern whitetails with the 100gr pro hunter, inside 70yds not so good, all u find of the bullet is pcs of jacket, the deer I've killed from 100 plus, the bullet really shines for your application I'd say your good to go.
