.243 or 6 Creedmoor for my daughters first rifle

I started with a 25-06...this is a long range forum so everyone seems to talk BC and beyond 600 yards..but I tell ya' a fast 25 is pretty hard to beat inside 450 yards. I made a pretty darn long shot with a 25-06 on a little buck when I was 13 110 grain bullet and a Little windage with a Duplex retical and I made a 446 yard shot—before fancy reticals, rangefinders and dialing—this is what fast 25s did—they took guess work out of ranging. I still break out a 257 Weatherby—and it still is one of the flattest things out to 500.. I would not hesitate suggesting a 25-06 or to a lesser extent 257 Weatherby (the Weatherby has a bit of bark—but not much bite)

If it wasn't for the fact that I had a short action, I probably would have gone with a 25/06

I see more options on the shelf with loaded 6mm CM ammo, Barnes is loading the 95gr LRX-BT
Should be an excellent option for a hunting round.
I don't know where you've seen more options on the shelf for 6creed vs 243. Midwayusa stocks 7 types of 6 creed ammo while they have 47 types for 243.

Where did I say I was seeing more 6CM ammo than 243 ammo ?

All I said was I'm seeing more options in loaded ammo for the 6mm CM which imho is good to to see.
I thought you were referencing the OP.

I agree its good to see there are getting to be more options available for factory loaded ammo in 6 creed.

Here's my 6mm Creedmoor build, its on a SS Win 70 CRF SA, 24" SS Benchmark, 1-8 Twist, 5R barrel, #1 contour
Wildcat Stock, factory trigger set at 2.5lbs, should be an awesome hunting rifle, going to top it with Talleys and a VX3i 4.5-14x40 30mm CDS

To add my two cents: I just purchased a Remington 700 ADL/22"/.243, for my 7 year old. Will be used for the youth mentor hunt. Now to see what factory rounds it will shoot well.
