On the Hodgdon website, they give some high velocity with the new Ramshot Grand powder behind a Berger 85.5 Hybrid. Has anyone tried that powder yet? It's one space slower than H1000. Maybe a Magnum primer would be needed.

Excuse my ignorance, but is it an extruded or ball powder?
No such thing is available here, but if it's ball powder, the brass is SRP, then, yes, you would want a magnum primer.
If it's extruded, even if SRP brass, then I would think a magnum primer is not required.
If brass is LRP, then no magnum primer is required either way.
I will say, I test both standard and magnum in both sizes regardless of case size….there is ALWAYS a clear winner on target.

Grand is a Ball powder. I think I will also try Re#26

Peterson lr. Fed210. Mild load
46gr avg. 3300fps
Stopped there it 1 holes at 200yds
Four leaf clover with 5 shots.
But I started at 44gr and it shot great
Then 45 same thing then 46 and it was putting bullet in bullet. I stopped wasn't going to push my luck.

2.746 is what I got by just putting a bullet in a fired case, so take that for what it's worth. I back off. 034. COAL 2.712.
I ordered this barrel from E.A.B.C.O
They had them at 50% off.back in February and it showed up in June.
For Savage 110 I had forgotten about it.
August I unscrewed a 308 from one of my Savage's and screw the 22 creed on.
I didn't have anything for this, so I ordered dies, brass and some bullets, Berger 85.5 and ELD-VT 62gr. Midway had Grand for sale at 35.00 a pound got 6.
Hodgdon has a load for Grand.
Had some time one day and prep the brass started with grand and 85.5.
Shot great only with 3 different loads
Made up a dozen tested at 200 shot great.
Haven't done anything with it since.
Some days I'm the Bug and some days I'm the windshield.
