I don't have a chrony either. I did the same thing you did. 5 shot group at 600 yards. Gave me a MV and put it into the Iphone app and voila. Bangin steel at further ranges with one shot. Our guys use this method (called truing) because they don't have chronies either.

You have a known measurement from your aim point. You can figure it out. Good enough for minute of mule deer.

Looking at your load, and from all the 300 wins with H-1000 and 210's I have set up, I would say closer to 2980. Hope this helps.

Jeff, Do you think from your experience that 71.5 is a good place to start with either the RWS or PPU brass?

Bob, I am not familiar with PPU but I am with RWS. And yes 71.5 of H-1000 under a 210 or 215 is a good place to start. I have seen a few rifles show some pressure with this combo at 74. But most will go a few grains over that. Barrel , chamber specs and powder lot make the difference. From a 26" expect to get about 2800 to 2900 and some 28's get in the neighborhood of 2950 with 210's. Changing to a 215 we have seen 30 to 50 fps gains with a grain less powder.

Is a 73gr charge with the 215's a compressed load, and on average for a 300wm are you able to carry 1800fps to 1k yards with the 215's?
