In the earlier thread I mentioned that I had loaded 96.0/Retumbo with the 208 AMax at COL 3.610. I decided to try 94.0/Retumbo prior to shooting the heavier load--------with 94.0 grains I got a bit of primer cratering and slightly stiff bolt lift, actually about like the Rem factory 180 Sirocco load in this rifle.
I decided to drop back to 92.0/Retumbo and check signs/fps before going any higher. The 94.0 grain load was very accurate with 3 rounds in .384 in. @ 100 yds, this in the stainless syn. Win 70 with tupperware stock (I had bedded the stock with Steelbed and floated the bbl.).
My plan was to use the action to build a sorta heavy, long bbl. rifle but if it continues to shoot so well I may have to rethink a bit............
Cheers,
Jim
