204 Ruger

Is that a CZ 527 in a chassis??
Good morning!
The rifle is a Ruger 77 Mark II SS Barrel 26" Coated in Target Grey chambered in .204. We bought in 2004 when Ruger came out with the .204 Cartridge. Originally had a Laminated Stock topped off with a Leupold VXIII Target 8x25x50 and then changed to a MDT Folder Chassis, and suppressed. Topped off with a Vortex Gen II 4.5X27x50 with a 30 tube.
Shoots 1/8" groups at 100 yds. Used mostly for Chuck and PD Hunting. Use H-4895 with SBK 39gr and Nosler Brass.
Thanks
Len & Jill

What kind of support system is that in photos 3 & 4? How is it on uneven ground? Looks interesting.

Harrell's Precision make 30mm and 34mm rings also(have to order the 34's)

It is a "Shooting Chair" made by a man in PA about 40 years ago. Works great on uneven ground. The legs/feet twist to conform to the ground. He has not made these chairs in over 20 years so I only know of two around. Mine and my hunting partner that unfortunately in in a HOME now due to Alzheimer's. It is light to carry around and then very stable when sitting in it. You do sit low. It's great for hunting Chucks in NE PA going from hay field to hay field. Easy to carry. And for those that hunt chucks know that you may sit in a field for A LONG TIME SHOOTING OR WAITING FOR THE CHUCK TO POP UP OUT OF THE GRASS.

I like staying below 20 power maximum. if your shooting in the heat of the day, the mirage forces you to dial back anyway, plus field of view is better, so you can see your hits. I have 8.5 x 25 Leopold's on my 204's but always find myself at about 20. If I could find more 6.5 x 20 with the varmint reticle I would swap them out but Leopold doesn't make them anymore.
