.2-.3 100 yard cold bore challenge

Did this yesterday....But 200 yards, nice day, no wind, didn't want to waist the opportunity. I have been doing work with the 156 EOL's with this rifle after using 142 JLK's for the last eight years. Cold bore is the highest of the 5 shots. This Cooper has been very consistent, with over 1000 rounds fired. Bottom target is from 2012, also 200 yards. Cold bore touching red on both targets. Both, bipod on bench. This has been a great hunter, with over 50 game animals and coyotes taken to 1188 yards.

I have always been impressed with your shooting!! Have you been successful with the 156 yet, and was it as effective as your lighter bullet harvests?

two today, both off bipod, rear bag, bench. Gun and ammo details in pics. Both factory ammo, first time trying the Nosler match ammo in the first pic. This was shot with my competition rifle - about 18lbs.

Second group was shot with my hunting rifle, a 6lb bare rifle beauty from Mesa Precision. It's widely believed a rifle has to be a little heavy to be precise, but with new materials and machining technology, that's no longer necessarily true.

Thanks for the kind words!....I must admit though, even after 50+ years of shooting, I still have my off days!!
I haven't taken any game yet with the 156's. The combination of having a well established and effective load well in place, and not enough long range track time with the 156's resulted in my decision to work with them in the off season and give them a try next season. Also, the excellent reports on the 156's terminal ballistics wasn't yet available in sufficient quantity at the start of this past season. While I have in a couple of cases shot medium game past 1000 yards, my normally calibrated limit, I'n intrigued to see if I can "confidently" extend this range to 1200 yards. With my current load I've got 1000FPE at sufficient velocity extended over my prior load from 1000 to 1200 yards, with SD's consistently running 3-5, better then my previous go-to load. I'm looking forward to next season!

Factory ammo?!! Thats not supposed to shoot that well!! Lol.

I have a Bergara Premier and a CA BA Tactical that will shoot groups like that with some factory Hornady Match - I'll try and get out tomorrow to get some new pics.

I wanted to get out today and post an honest 0.3" group. Well that didn't work out but I'm fine with that. The group is 5 shots with the first shot from clean cold bore centered (this is typical of this rifle. I had cleaned it completely down to use my teslong bore scope.
Savage 112FLVSS in B&C stock
25-06 Rem factory barrel
Factory 3screw trigger
Nosler Brass FL sized with Lee Dies
58.5gr Retumbo 115 Berger WLR primer
Group measured 0.494"
Shot from prone with rest and rear bag.

Left work a little early today and hit the range for a quick group. I played magical scopes a couple weeks before and did a pretty poor job re-zeroing before I left.

Cold bore, cold shooter (no dry firing beforehand)...cold weather, haha.

Weather was 28* F with gusty winds from 2 - 14 mph jumping from 5 o'clock to 7 o'clock. Shots were taken from the prone using bipod & rear bad. Ammo was factory 162 ELD-X. Rifle is a Ti/Ca 7mm RM.

5-Shot group is just a hair under 1/2 MOA, which is very consistent with this set-up.

Thank you sir. We posted three very different caliber/rifle groups to demonstrate they are no fluke. We don't claim them to be more accurate then current one hole guns, what we do know is they are more forgiving during load development, are certainly superior on extended strings for group size, group drift, SD drift and a longer life due to their cool nature, and recoil pulse is very different and reduced.
What is your favorite round?

That rifle will straight up shoot. I spent about 8 rounds finding my load and have never changed it. Thank you.
