1st VS 2nd Focal Plane Rifle Scopes

Majority of my hunting is in wooded terrain.
But will have multiple occasions to sit the power lines...shots can be way out there, so significant magnification required on upper end. I'm looking at a Swampfox Arrowhead 1-10x which is SFP or the Swampfox Kentucky Long 2 -12x which is FFP ...just can't decide which will give me what I'm looking for

I looked up the scope you listed, if getting a ranging reticle like in the 2-12 defiantly get an FFP otherwise the subtensions become functionally useless. Looks like that model might only be FFP, which is fine. At 12x I don't think either of those MOA/MIL reticles would be problematic. The REECE reticle with the circle would bug me on a hunting rifle, but that's personal preference.

For what you described I think 2-12x would be a good range. I shoot out to 300 with 2-7X duplex reticles on my stand rifles, I prefer the wider FOV over magnification. Put me on a firing line and I'll wish I had a March 8-80x, but in the stand FOV is more important.
