1st groups with TRG 42 338LM

After testing scope last week I loaded up 10 shells and used them to get on paper and let a couple of friends take a few shots. Today I went and shot a few shots cleaning between 3 shot groups. Fired 3 shots with 225 SST, 89 grns Rel 22, Fed215, Lapua brass chron'd 3009 avg. I also shot 3 of the factory Lapua with the 250 Scenar chrono'd 2950 avg. Group with tape was Lapua.
Wholly crap! I think I'm gonna like this rifle.

Base model TRG that will be painted when it warms up. Some sort of camo.
Near Mfg. 25 MOA base, Alpha mount, and Near break. Nightforce 5.5-22x56 NXS w/zero stop.

It's been a strange couple of weeks weather wise here. Hardly any wind and temps 40 to upper 50's. Day of groups wind was 1-2 mph from 7:00. Supposed to be the same for the next 10 days. Hopefully I'll get some shooting and the next 6 nightshifts.

I have just recently got myself a 338LM,in the shape of a Rem 700 Police, in a AICS stock and with a new long heavy barrel.
It shoots really well with 250 grs Scenar, and also with the 300 grs Scenar.

Just thought I'd post a pic of a 5 shot group shot at 300 meters last week.
I love this gun.

These are reloads.

I use Lapua brass, 215 mag primers, and 79 grs of Norma MRP powder.
Today I loaded 50 rounds of 250 grs Scenar, using 97 grs of Vith N570 powder, and got 3205 fps. My barrel is 32" long and 1.1" thick. It is a heavy gun, weighin 27.55 pounds.
