That's badass congrats
Sounds like you had a great experience all the way around. The funniest pack animal I've come across in the Rockies was a string of goats. Aty least Llamas make sense, HA!Google llamas on here. Their is a post I replied to.
Basically a one to two hour introduction training. Llamas rode on back of a pick up with a wood frame installed by owner at time of pickup. They carry 80 to 100 pounds. Zero trouble. A child could lead.
At camp offer water once a day and move every other day to new grass. They stake out like a dog. Zero problems.
I have heard a lot about goats being used for pack animals in the last year.Sounds like you had a great experience all the way around. The funniest pack animal I've come across in the Rockies was a string of goats. Aty least Llamas make sense, HA!
Boer's were used extensively for it in Africa for centuries. The straight bred Boer is a big stout animal almost the size of a small donkey.I have heard a lot about goats being used for pack animals in the last year.
Was Antero Llamas where you rented from?View attachment 109021 View attachment 109022 View attachment 109023 View attachment 109024
This was a public land DIY hunt. Those are llamas that I rented in the background. I took them, went in 4 miles and camped out.
That reminds me. I was to report my experiences with llamas on here.

Awesome hunt D-man, thanks for sharing all parts of the hunt with us I am very interested in the llamas. Just a curious question after you quarter it out the bull what did you use to chill him down I didn't notice in the pictures coolers or anything but with it being not too far in I assume that you packed out to get ice? Or was it cold enough to hang where you were at? I live in North Georgia so I think we're trying to hit all four seasons this week!!!!!!
