This listing is for a vintage, 1979, 1895 Marlin (JM marked) in 45-70 government; not a cross-bolt safety. The rifle is in great mechanical condition, it is not a safe queen, however it is a solid gun. The rifle has some handling marks and some bluing wear in a couple of areas, the bore is bright, clean and there are no pits. The loading gate has been changed out to a Ranger Point loading gate, the rest of the rifle is all original. The stock has been refinished, there is a mark near the end of the fore end, please see the photos. As I described the rifle is not a safe queen, however the price reflects the condition of the gun. The bluing on the lever shows that the rifle has not been shot/used much at all. I bought this rifle for a friend who wanted to use if for black bear hunting, and then decided he wanted to go in another direction. We all know how that goes?? Asking $850 from my FFL to your FFL, plus shipping. USPS money order only. If you have any questions or want more photos please ask.
