1850 German Jaeger .54cal. Gentleman hunting rifle. Cleaning, lubricating and ready to punch some paper!

Our Swiss Jaeger .70cal. Was made in the 1750s. Possibly fought against the British in the American Revolution. Was converted to percussion cap early 1800s (was the latest technology).

I was able to pry it out of the current, last, owner. He shot it for about 50 years until age caught up with him. It took about two weeks to let me have it. He wanted to have an appropriate conservator.

I have shot it and works beautifully! Enjoy!

I can only imagine the excitement of taking that 1850 German Jaeger out to the range and feeling the weight of history in your hands as you line up your shots. And with a .54 caliber bore, I'm sure it packs quite a punch!
