Have had good luck with Hornady SST 150gr over IMR 4831 and WLM. Then came the powder issues, none! Working on SST 150's over H4350 that is showing promise. Still developing this load.

If I load anything 150gr with a boat tail anywhere near my lands I only have .1" to .15" of bearing surface inside the neck.
Just ordered 500 168vldh and 500 185 vldh. I physically compared bearing surface lengths yesterday at cabelas and the 168s are almost all boat tail and ojive. Sometimes they like a lot of jump . Thats my only hope of using the 168s safely .
Otherwise I mostly bought them for my .308 rifles.

I'm running Barnes 168 TTSX over IMR 4831. I'm getting 3040 fps out of my 24 inch HS Precision. Shoots MOA. Killed a West Texas mule deer at 350 yards, and a New Mexico cow elk at 400. Both one shot kills. Bullets not recovered. Both animals never took a step.

Thats sweet you must be a Barnes guy for life.

Actually a nosler and hornady are my favorites but the used rifle came with load data for the Barnes so I went with it. Names react different, small hole in small hole out, no blood lose but dead in their tracks. I'm use to a large wound and lots of blood

Should read Barnes react diff. Fricking auto spell

Yep rl22 gives me better accuracy and velocities for heaver bullets. unfortunately im saving what I have left on the whole planet for 185 vld. H1000 is THE cleanest burning powder in my 300 of any rife / powder combination I've ever seen. However not as fast.
