I have a long relationship with the 165 grain 7mm Sierra tipped game king bullet (game changer).
Started shooting them as soon as they came out and actually shot my first prs match with this bullet. Over the years I have had two different 7 saums and I'm on my second barrel on one of them. And this bullet has become the standard by which I judge all others. I have had a barrel that won't shoot a 180 Berger hybrid but all of them shoot the 165 tgk. I've had a brux a bartlein and a carbon six barrel. All three have shot the 165 with H4831sc. This year is the first year I hunted with my saum and this bullet. It took 5 deer and one elk and had excellent results on all. My son started off the year with a small white tail buck here in MN at 130 yards, shot was right at the top of the heart, basically severed the heart off and the deer dropped at the shot. Then out to MT where I took a bull at around 150 yards and a friend and my brother both took white does from the same spot both right around 255 yards. And back to MN where my son took two more deer. Haven't shot any game at extended ranges but the bullets performed very good between 75 and 250 yards. And based on the bullets I found in the elk I have high confidence in them out to 600 yards which is my self imposed long range limit. If the wind hasn't made you a humble man than you just need a little more experience. Townsend Whelen probably.
