165 gr matrix load for 270 wby mag!!

I have never shot that bullet. But here are my accuracy loads with the 160 grain nosler partition. At least that should give you a starting point. My rifles have wby freebore so you need to adjust if yours do not. 70.5 grains H-4831 and 73.7 grains of IMR-7828. Let us know how these bullets perform. Should be a good one.

Thanks for the info. Right now I'm shooting 150 grain berger vld's with 71 grains of h1000. Getting around 3125 fps. I have a winchester M70 with 27 in. Hart barrel. Not quite as much free bore as the Factory Weatherby. I'm gonna try the matrix bullets and see how they work. If i can get 3000 out of them I will be happy. McWorters says they are getting 3150. That's smoking for this size bullet!!

When I was shooting the imr7828 and 130gr bullets. I was easily getting 3450. But the 7828 is a little temp. sensitive. The h1000 is way more stable. Living in the south, It's 20 degrees one day and 75 the next.

Be sure to keep us updated, I've been running piles of the Matrix out of my WSM that is throated for them. I can easily run the 165 at 3053 fps and I start to get signs of pressure at 3150-3180fps and max at 3220ish with a 27.5in barrel. Curious to see what a WBY will do with them, should be good!!!

I am trying to work up the 165 Matrix in my 270 Wby. mag. and would appreciate what OAL are successfully being seated to. I have a long throat with COAL at 3.820.

Thank you.

Shot my test loads. No pressure signs . Got them up to around 2925 with 68.5grains of H1000. Also 67,68 and 68.5 Grain loads shoot through the same hole at 100 yds.
I'll shoot some more in a few days and keep yall posted

What gun and barrel length were you using for your test shots?

270 Win, 270 WSM, 270 Wby? Berger or Matrix?

Thank you.
