Yeah with a brake you'll want to double up on the ear pro.
It's really not silly at all. Try it you just might fall in love.A short barreled magnum without a can is just silly. Go with a longer barrel.
Can you give a few more details of can size and cartridge?About 1/2" worth. I have only seen up to 17fps gains with the exact same load suppressed vs unsuppressed. Most have been about 12fps. Some as little as 8.
I have a 16" 223. The muzzle blast is notable without the can. Guys next to me thought I was shooting a 338 lapua. Even with double ear pro, a braked 16" magnum is not hearing safe. It's really not silly at all. Try it you just might fall in love.
Ya sorry I read your post wrong. Short barreled mag with a brake is not pleasant I agree. With a can is a great set up.I have a 16" 223. The muzzle blast is notable without the can. Slap a can on a 16" magnum and now you're talking.
18" 6CMCan you give a few more details of can size and cartridge?
With my 30 cal banish I got right at plus 50fps on a 24" 7 blaser and 35fps on 24" 6cm
I don't think that would be sufficient for deer at 800-1000 yards.I'd do a 6mm. I have a creed in a 11.5" and it's 1400 plus fps and 500 ft lbs with a 110. A 16" is going to run at least 100 fps faster. Likely 150.
