I've got a few 168 smk's laying around, and I have debated trying them. Ordered a box of berger 155.5's yesterday. Why not try both ?

152 Hammers with 6.5 Stabal at 3415 FPS. I am in VA so long range is actually pushing bow limits...

I hear you on the distance. Here in my corner of se Texas, a long shot is 200 and its not that common. And a 150 is plenty adequate for the size of the critters here. Most of the time though I shoot a 215. Just to make sure I've got enough bullet for the job.

What was your starting load with the 6.5 staball ?
I may have to buy some powder for this. All my stuff is geared more towards the heavies.
Looking through my reloading manuals, accurate magpro gives the best velocity of the powders I have on hand. Imr 4831 right behind that.

They tend to cause major tissue damage entry as well as exit , if they do.
