I wanted to start this thread and see if other was having the same luck I am with the 140 match burners. I'm shooting a 6.5x47L and I am using 38 grains of h4350 with this bullet and getting a 6 inch group at 1200 yards. They seem to shoot much better than my Berger 140 vld or even the 130 vld. Seeing if anyone else experience this as well. O by the way I have a 26in bartlien 1-8 twist barrel. I even stretch it out to a mile and got 4 round impact

Thanks for the information I really don't know anyone that shoot the match burners that's why I was fishing for other people results.

I've run the 112s In my 6gt, they like to be 60-90k jump for a lot of Shooters, myself included. The 145s in a long throat prc shot the best at 40k jump when I tested. I never went too deap into testing with them as the 142smk was just easy button.

I shoot the 6.5 140 B MB's in my 6.5-06 using 55 gr. VN165 for velocities averaging about 2850. I have only tried this load at 300 but it looks real good. This load is close to the published Vihtavouri 6.5-.284 Norma load(s). When the flames quit from Montana's wildfires & the ranges & BLM lands open I hope to try them at 1,000. I have been shooting this bullet & the 6mm 105, & the .224 69 for years. If Barnes made a 130 gr. 6.5 MB I would use it in my old 9 twist 6.5-.308

Man I'd think you're leaving a lot on the table settling at that speed. My 6.5creed runs 140s at 2900 from a 24" barrel using rl26. My 6.5x284 run 156s @ 2980 from a 26" barrel using rl26. VV N165 is a very stable and cool burning powder, but it's on the slow side. You should be able to make 3k fps from a 6.5-06 with 140 class projectiles as long you're not running a short pipe.

I've also had good luck with Barnes match burners, both in factory and reloads for the 6.5 creedmoor as far as steel is concerned. I'm still partial to the ELD-X for hunting. To be fair, I haven't had any problems with Berger either.

I too am interested. Very similar PRS rifle setup. Same cartridge in a 28" 7.5t Krieger Currently lobbing the 144 Berger at 2770fps. Could use a backup option that is more economical. I have seen the match burners available once in a while. Thanks

I tried them in my 6.5PRC and the CM while starting load development for hunting bullets. They shot about 1MOA, but that's about all.

Yes, I've had good success with them in my 6.5x280AI with a 24" barrel and Retumbo.

I like to avoid sticky bolt lifts, & expanded primer pockets and keep chamber pressures under 62K psi; 55 gr. of VV N165 is the limit and about 4.5 to 5 grains over max shown in Hornady & Berger manuals for N165 & 140 grain bullets. All the loads shown for 6.5-.284 Norma data using N 165
& 140's don't exceed 2850. I am sorry that I don't have access to pressure testing equipment or RL26. The target/load shown is 53 gr. of H1000, 2 grains under Hodgdon max and probably develops 2,750 fps from my 26 inch barrel. This load has won many informal 600 yard contests and is super sonic out to 1,000 with extremely uniform velocities. Probably, 35 fps loss per inch barrel length.

The Barnes Match Burner is a super good bargain and rates right up with other bullets.

I run 140 RDF @2940 with 48.6 H4350 and shoots very well to 1000 but near pressure signs.
I bought a 500 box of 140 MB to try as they look very similar to RDF.
Oh... that's in 6.5-284 with 26" X-Caliber barrel chambered by Apache.
