130 vld

Hey guys I don't have a berger manual but I'm running 130 vlds out of a 6.5-284. I got low velocities to start with so I'm bumping up my charges and tryin different stuff. Any recommended starting loads with h4831 rl-17 or imr 4350? My loads so far are accurate but I went with this chamberings for the extra fps so I want to get em if I can. I ask about those powders cause that's what I have

I just tried shooting the 130 out of my gun. I was extremely disappointed with the speeds I was getting out of it. I tried Win 780, reloader 22 and h1000. The velocities were very disappointing. I am glad I had 142 SMK, I had gotten my best velocities with the heavier ball and retumbo Hope this helps

Berger book lists h4831sc at 49.5 start with 2699 fps and 52.2 max with 2847, imr 4350 45.5 start with 2681 and 48 max with 2812. test barrel is 26". With berger 140 vlds, lapua brass, fed 215GM, and 57 gr retumbo i got 2950 out of my savage 116 6.5-248 24" barrel same results as others are getting with that load...

Yeah if I could go to midway and buy retumbo and fed 215s I definitely would have by now it seems to be the best combo. I'm just tryin to get the best results with what's available and sadly it seems I may have already
